Slipstone are an acoustic/electric folk roots rock duo based in South Wales. Seasoned musicians, Huw Chidgey &
Mel Crew perform an eclectic mix of songs from the traditional to contemporary. Both are currently playing with the folk rock bandThe Parcel Of Rogues.
Huw (acoustic guitar, vocals)
Huw's a singer, guitar player and teacher. He also plays as a soloist, with Catherine Handley & with The Hairpin Bend Band.
Working with Catherine Handley, who by the way is a great flute and keyboard player, they have played in venues across The British Isles and mainland Europe. He works for the charity Music In Hospitals as a freelance musician, and he teaches guitar in schools around South Powys.
Mel (electric guitar, mandolin, harmonica, vocals)
Mel is an extremely experienced musician and lead vocalist, who has played with various bands over the years, including Fastback Saloon, The Parcel Of Rogues & The Blue Rhondda.
He has played venues up and down the country, played on various local radio stations, also on TV. On his travels he has shared the stage with bands such as Racing Cars & The Strawbs.
Mel also works with Huw for the charity Music In Hospitals.

It gives us much pleasure to perform for Music in Hospitals, who do superb job organising shows for people who may not be able to attend concerts otherwise.
Music in Hospitals (MiH) is a charity whose mission is to improve the quality of life for adults and children with all kinds of illness and disability through the joy and therapeutic benefits of professionally performed live music in hospitals, hospices, day care centres, special schools, nursing and residential homes.
